Walk: Tamarin salt pans & the river mouth

A gentle loop of about 3 km: from Tamarin public beach to the mouth of the Tamarin River (birds, fishermen, sometimes dolphins in the bay at dawn), up to the Royal Road bridge, and through the Yemen–Tamarin salt pans, where workers rake the white salt in the low basins.

Go early: the light on the salt pans is beautiful, the workers are there in the morning, and it's still cool. Finish with a coffee in Tamarin.

Tamarin public beach car park, 10 minutes from the villa.

🧭 The route

Along the beach to the river mouth, up the river bank to the Royal Road bridge, across, and back through the salt pans to the beach (≈ 3 km).

Sand, dirt paths and a short stretch of road (watch the traffic on the bridge).
