Planning tips
- Group the far regions. The north (Grand Baie, Pamplemousses) and the south-east (Blue Bay, Mahébourg) are 1–1h15 away: do each in one full day, or sleep a night there.
- Sunrise for hikes and dolphins. In November–December the sun rises around 5:30 and it's hot by 10:00.
- Avoid the rush hours around Port Louis, Ébène and Quatre Bornes (7:00–9:30, 16:00–18:30).
- Book ahead: Île aux Aigrettes, the family Creole tables, catamarans, and the Le Morne guide.
- Keep a flexible day for weather-dependent activities (skydive, helicopter, boat trips).
