La Prairie lies on the coast road just after the Le Morne peninsula, towards Baie du Cap. It's a mix of sand and grass under the trees, with one of the best views of Le Morne Brabant's southern face and the lagoon.
On weekends Mauritian families come for picnics and music; on weekdays it's very quiet. Swimming is possible in the lagoon on calm days.
