At Le Souffleur, waves are forced through a hole in the basalt shelf and shoot up in a spray (less than in the past, when the rock hadn't eroded, but still dramatic in a big swell). Nearby, the Pont Naturel is an arch of rock with the ocean surging underneath. Access is by a rough track through sugarcane.
