North of Grand Baie, Coin de Mire rises like a wedge from the sea, and Flat Island and Île Gabriel share a stunning lagoon. Catamarans sail out in the morning, stop to snorkel at Coin de Mire, then anchor off Gabriel for a BBQ lunch, swimming and a walk on the islet.
The crossing is in open sea: it can be rough when the trade winds blow.
